- The Kamado Joe KJ13RH kamado grill is constructed from 1 1/4-inch thick ceramic that holds heat, maintain any temperature and is extremely porous to keep moisture in your meat, producing incredibly juicy, tender food with a true wood-fired flavor.
- Perfect for the beach, picnics, pool parties, camping, and more, Joe Jr. weighs only 68 lbs. and boasts a 377 square-centimeter cooking surface - ample space for a full beer-can chicken with vegetables.
- You can enjoy the luxury of cooking on 149 square inches of grilling area, with a commercial-grade 304 stainless steel hinged cooking grate that allows you to easily add more charcoal. The stainless steel draft door allows you to control the airflow and temperature within the grill. The lid hinge is made of powder-coated galvanized iron and the fire grate is made of powder-coated cast iron for durability and superior heating performance.
- The built-in thermometer allows you to monitor cooking temperatures, even when the grill lid is shut, and the powder-coated cast iron grill stand has handles so that you can take this portable unit with you camping or tailgating. The black finished HDPE handle provides a cool, comfortable grip.

A perfect Christmas Gift from the family to a guy who grills in some fashion 5-6 days a week. This is my forth cooker "on staff" , and we so look forward to our week-ends with it. Perfect for empty-nesters like us, but we have fed 6 on one cooking cycle. It was a lot of fun learning to use it, and I still pull out the manual just to help with temperature control. Nothing much is better than soaking in the spa on the back deck, while KJ Jr. surrounds the deck with tasty aromas. Clean up is a whiz, and the idea to reuse un-spent coals is a great tip!

My wife bought this for me at a Costco Kamado Joe Road Show. I had purchased a Big Joe earlier and while it is outstanding, there have been times where I wanted something smaller when I was just cooking for the two of us. The Jr. is an outstanding compliment to my Big Joe. While I use the Big Joe to smoke briskets and pork butts, the Jr. is my go to for a couple of steaks or hamburgers. It allows me to use the right tool for the job.

Very versatile grill. Exceeded expectations and very easy to control. I was able to smoke an 8 lb pork butt to perfection.

The Joe Jr is a miniature version of the larger grills with the same quality and ceramics. Don't underestimate it because of the size! You can cook anything on it as long as it will fit and I have. It too can hold 225 or 625. It's a great grill for quick meals or to cook a pork shoulder. You can also carry it for portability. Recommend

Joe Jr is a great companion to our Big Joe. We frequently only grill for two so when it is a Steak night it is nice to not have to fire up Big Joe. Jr. heats quickly and is easy to cook on. We haven't tried to smoke on it but I don't see why for something small that it wouldn't work well.

I was contemplating purchasing a kamado grill for a while and after doing some research and figuring out what would suit my needs etc I had it narrowed down to 2 choices. The KJ Jr and another. As luck would have it I found a good deal on the KJ and the decision was made. I don't have anything to compare it to but I can tell it's a good quality. Everything fit together easily and precisely and none of the components are cheap or flimsy. I've only used it three times so far but the meals have been very tasty and the grill holds temps steady very well. It will take a little practice to get the temps and cooking times a little more precise but honing my skills is all the more reason to use it lol. I'm very happy with my decision to go with the KJ Jr and would recommend it to anyone looking for a small charcoal grill.
