Description

The Primo All-In-One Large Round ceramic grill (PGCRC) is perfect as a primary grill or to complement your current gas grill, electric grill or smoker. With over 280 square inches of cooking surface, it's deceptively large when it comes to the amount of food that can be cooked on it. The All-In-One setup includes everything you need - heavy duty base with four-wheeled casters and two FDA food-safe side shelves. The Primo PGCRC Round Kamado smoker is constructed of premium-grade ceramics, a cast iron top vent, easy-to-read thermometer, two-piece reversible porcelain-coated cooking grates, and a stainless steel lower draft door. Made in the USA this Primo Grill comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty backed by a 20-Year Guarantee on the ceramics. Grill steaks on the direct side and roast tender foods like fish, seafood and vegetables on the indirect side at the same time without the tender food being overcooked and charred (indirect cooking for baking, roasting, and smoking requires the heat deflector racks and plates - sold separately). When it comes to adding a kamado grill to your backyard, look no further than the Primo All-In-One PGCRC Round Kamado Charcoal Ceramic Kamado Grill (773).

Top quality komado, great price

Top quality. As good as or better than big green egg. Best price i have seen for a top quality komado. I can easily cook 6 huge ribeyes at a time, fold out tables on the side are perfect size. Have a buddy ready to help unbox on delivery day because this thing is super heavy. Rolling stand is top quality and takes less than 5 minutes to assemble.

Hope it doesnt rust.

Paint was defective on the handle. One of the castors broke the second time I pushed the lock. The seller was great and helped out. The grill designers seem like they had good intentions. There have been some upgrades since the instruction manual was made. Looks like they welded some places that used to require bolts. The poor paint quality is the bummer. I expected better for this price range. The grill does work well. Its very large. It holds heat well, smokes well at low and high temps. I burn lump hardwoods and they seem to burn well for grilling and smoking. Also the grate came with instructions to be careful not to crack the porcelin, yet it came cracked and the tool they give you to pick it up cracks it more all the time. Some flaws. Hope it lasts thats all. I should mention that the firebowl and grill itself are heavy duty and thick. That part seems great and well made. Yes thats a jr next to it.

The grill arrived into Houston via ups freight, and ...

The grill arrived into Houston via ups freight, and it had to be scheduled for delivery. That process turned into a nightmare with me having to drive to their loading docks to pick it up because my wife nor I could work out our schedules to meet ups delivery needs, then they missed the date we agreed upon for delivery after a week of negotiating. Got it home, put it together, and have started grilling to get used to it from a gas grill. The kamado is extremely efficient with coal use, and it is solidly built.

Awesome, holds temperature very well

I love my Primo, usually cooking on it 3-4 times per week. I also love tums, which may be related. Any way, this grill holds temperature very well, enabling you to cook for hours without worrying about adding coals or whether or not your meat is under or overcooking. It is a very flexible grill, I have used it for pizza, steaks, pulled pork, ribs and even macaroni and cheese. My only issue with the Kamado is that it doesn't have a firebox divider similar to the ovals. This however isn't a deal breaker for me. I also prefer Primo over Big Green Egg because they are made in America.

Best Bang for your buck

I bought grill originally for smoking pork butts and brisket but find my self grilling everything on it now. It really is amazing at how well these kamado's cook. The quality of this Primo at least to me was the best of all the ones i was able to see locally including BGE and KJ. If your lucky you can pick up one of these all in one grills for the price of the just the BGE with out stand or plate setters. It really is the best value I found. I also find that you can easily cook for 10 to 15 people with it.

Disappointed

I have the XL Oval version Primo. Not the round. I have had it for several years now. It does an amazing job of cooking. I can set up a cook for overnight. I might cook some bbq for 10-12 hours using lump charcoal and never have to refill. It tastes great. It will crack on the outer layer but not affect the grill.
The problems that I have include:
1. The inside will get moldy if not used often. I have opened the grill only to find a disgusting layer of mold everywhere with lots of cleanup to be done. Not very appetizing.
2. I have had problems with the hinges. They are secured around a thin layer of ceramic with a metal band. The ceramic started to deteriorate. They have come loose. I have problems with alignment for top and bottom now.
3. Once the hinges started messing up, the top actually fell off when I opened it. It is heavy ceramic and broke. Primo replaced for free. However I had to pay for shipping. It is very large and heavy. It was about $225 and I had to pick it up at a dealer. Not happy about the cost.
Again, this review is for the larger smoker. The experience could be slightly different. I do love using it. But I would not spend that much again on a Primo.
