- The Camp Chef FTG600 features a 604 square inch, pre-seasoned, cold-rolled steel cooking surface with a splash guard to keep food on the griddle, and is evenly heated by four 12,000 BTU stainless steel burners. The stainless burners of the Camp Chef FTG600 sit in a powder-coated steel burner box and are independently controlled by four knobs on the front of the grill.
- The easy to use twist-and-turn ignition system is powered by simply turning the knob and features a safety valve and thermocouple to automatically cut off the gas supply in the event of accidental flame extinction, while ventilation cutouts allow proper airflow to prevent gas buildup and overheating.
- Two large, powder-coated steel folding side shelves provide extra prep space, and two powder-coated steel shelves under the grill provide storage space for tools or utensils.
- Micro-adjust griddle levelers and adjustable leg levelers ensure that you always have an even surface to cook on. A hose, regulator, and holding bracket are included for a 20-pound propane tank (tank not included).

I'm not mentioning names but you can buy the other griddle at Walmart for less. And I'd hand down recommend the camp chef. I've had mine for almost a year now and absolutely love it! I had been thinking of purchasing a flat top griddle for some time. I was originally going to purchase a Blackstone but once I started researching I came across the CampChef FTG600. I liked the fact that it offered individual matchless ignition for all 4 burners, and that it can be used as either a grill or a griddle. Every review I saw had the CampChef as the better quality griddle so I opted for the FTG600. As luck would have it I came across a 20% off sale at my local Dicks sporting goods store so I took the chance and bought it. Assembly was simple and straight forward needing only a Phillip's head screw driver and a small socket wrench.

Have had this for over a month now, and I use it for most dinners (5+/wk) and weekend breakfasts. Took a couple tries to get used to the temps, but well worth it. I built a cover for it from some 12 ga steel (made a 3? tall box that covers about 1/3 of the top) which works well when it's windy.

"I am sorry It took me so long to buy the FTG600. I am an experienced cook with over 30 years on a griddle. This unit is the same as cooking in a restaurant. I bought this griddle a few weeks ago, I have to say the product is amazing. Easy to set up very sturdy. Of course the product is great but Outdoor Cooking has in my mind put a great site to navigate and customer service is tops in my book. I would recommend Outdoor cooking to anyone .

We've had this grill for almost 2 years and it has paid for itself about 5x over. It makes grilling easy and is extremely versatile. I've never used the grill grates underneath (just to protect the burners), but I'm confident that would work just as well as the flat top for many things. Last summer, we used this grill 5-6 nights a week and loved everything it produced. I got lucky to find a deal at BJs for $199, but it's well worth the $449 price tag.

I purchased the FTG600 from Camp Chef directly.
It was shipped FedEx. The Styrofoam packaging is completely ineffective at protecting the components against modern delivery abuse. This is not my first Camp Chef unit and all have suffered the same type of damage.
The operation of the grill is great and I would recommend it to everyone! Assembly is straightforward and easy, excluding the time it takes to fix or make acceptable the shipping damage.
Cooking on this grill is easy as the temperature is mostly even across the surface with ample shelving space.

I've used my FTG 600 several times now and find it remarkably fun to cook on. My only complaint is the smallish size of the grease catcher. Cooking 5 lbs of bacon, I have to empty it after about half way through. Found an aftermarket unit that holds twice as much liquid. On this issue, Camp Chef can do better. I did!
